Scandinavian Cemetery Walk With The Rockford Historical Society

Haunted Rockford’s own Kathi Kresol and Samantha Hochmann will be interpreters at this event. 

This year, the Rockford Historical Society is hosting a second Cemetery Walk! Join us as we partner with the Swedish Historical Society to share the history of the stories behind the stones at the Scandinavian Cemetery.

Volunteers select individuals interred in the cemetery, research the person’s past, and interpret their findings for those who attend the walk. The interpreters are often dressed in costumes of the period associated with their subjects. Some of the interpreters also bring related items to enhance their presentations given near the gravesites of their chosen individuals.

The event is free but donations to the Rockford Historical Society will be accepted at the event and are appreciated.
