True Crime Expo

During this event we will delve into the details of some of the most horrific crimes in history. The speakers will present on all steps of these crimes from the commission to the aftermath on the community. Local author Kathi Kresol and Chicago based film maker John Borowski are partnering to bring this expo to Rockford for the first time.
Kathi Kresol will tell the specifics of some of our area’s most notorious crimes that she has discovered during her research into Rockford’s darker history. Kathi has been sharing her passion of local history for 15 years through her tours for Haunted Rockford, her writings for The Rock River Times and her books, including “Murder and Mayhem in Rockford” and “Haunted Rockford. Illinois”.
Award winning film maker John Borowski will share stories of the murderers he has researched in depth for his films on Victorian Serial Killers and his series “Serial Killer Culture”.
Other speakers will include author and presenters Sylvia Shults and Scott Markus. We will also be joined by the ladies from Bad Taste Crime Podcast Janlle O’Malley and Vicky Walters.
The price for the expo is $15.00 per person in advance and $20.00 if paid at the door.
Join us after the event for a showing of H.H.Holmes – America’s First Serial Killer and a meet-and-greet with film maker John Borowski. This event is sponsored by the Rockford Public Library on the same day as the True Crime Expo. Saturday, November 16, 2019 7:00-9:00p.m. at the Nordlof Center at 118 N. Main Street. There is no charge for film event.
